Our COO & Co-Founder Janel Paulk did a fantastic job at the Engaged Management Scholarship Conference 2023. This conference continues SVCF’s successful run of international speaking engagements.

What is Engaged Management Scholarship? Engaged Management Scholarship represents a dynamic and innovative approach to academic research in the field of management. It transcends the traditional boundaries of scholarly inquiry by actively involving practitioners, organizations, and the broader business community in the research process. This approach aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, fostering mutually beneficial collaborations and delivering real-world impact. Engaged Management Scholarship emphasizes collaboration with professionals, industry experts, and organizations. Researchers actively seek out partnerships with individuals and entities facing business management challenges, ensuring that their research remains grounded in real-world contexts. Engaged Management Scholarship is an impactful approach to academic research that actively involves practitioners, generates actionable insights, and addresses contemporary management challenges. It represents a powerful way to bridge the gap between academia and practice, ultimately benefiting both scholars and the broader business community.

Here is what our COO shared on her LinkedIn Page about her experience.

🌟 What an incredible privilege it was to co-lead a dynamic breakout session on our group academic research in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in Organizations alongside my esteemed colleagues, Ronald McNeill, MPA and @Dr. Lars Mathiassen at the 13th Annual International Engaged Management Scholarship Conference in Calgary, Canada!
🎓 Our session was graced by the presence of enthusiastic participants, including current doctoral students, accomplished alumni, and esteemed research professors from universities worldwide. The energy and insights exchanged were nothing short of inspiring. It’s a testament to the global commitment to driving positive change in organizations through inclusivity and equity.
🌍 As we shared our experiences and explored innovative methodologies, it reinforced the belief that collaboration knows no boundaries. Together, we are shaping a more inclusive, equitable, and engaged future for organizations worldwide.
🤝 Conference participants delved deep into the evolving landscape of evidence-based business scholarship and engaged management research. I was glad to be among a cohort of scholars representing Georgia State University – J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
❤️ A heartfelt thank you to the conference organizers Oleksiy (“Oleks”) Osiyevskyy and the team from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary! Also thanks to the incredible international participants for making this session an enriching experience.
